During the season of Lent it is customary for Christians to fast from things that offer us physical comfort or nourishment in order to devote more of our time, thoughts, and actions toward God, His work in our midst, and toward our work of worship. It is also common to add practices into our lives that help us develop new habits as we seek to follow Jesus together as a church.

This year we are encouraging one another to add the practice Morning or Evening Prayer from the 2019 Book of Common Prayer each day. If you already pray one daily office, consider adding another. Below you will find ways to engage in daily prayer through the prayer book, remembering that when we pray we are joining our hearts and minds in prayer with each other as well as millions of other Christians around the world who are reading the same scriptures and praying some of the very same prayers. Whether you can join us in person everyday, once or twice a week, or you are praying at home, it’s good to know that we as the church are praying together!

Daily Prayer from our app

From your Holy Trinity Edmonds app you can simply click “Daily Prayer” from your home screen and you will be taken to a daily office page for the correct time of day using the liturgy from the 2019 BCP.

Corporate Daily Prayer

Morning prayer will take place in the sanctuary each weekday (Mon-Fri) during the season of Lent (Feb 23rd-April 1st). We will begin at 8am and the service will last about 30 minutes but you are always welcome to stay and continue in prayer.

Using the 2019 BCP

If you have a copy of the 2019 Book of Common Prayer at home you can open it up and engage with Morning or Evening Prayer. If you have not done this before here is an instructional video made by Fr. Chris Findley to help you.
