Update on Pyay Missionary Diocese

Mission and Evangelism

There are now 11 parishes and four church plants. Seven villages in the diocese are targeted for mission and evangelism, and five evangelists are now working in those areas. Please pray for the diocese to raise up more evangelists who will go into the villages to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The mission and evangelism department of Pyay Missionary Diocese is doing the works of evangelism in the targeted villages in the diocese. Through the works of sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ, there are people who accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior from their hearts after hearing the Gospel. They will soon be baptized and received into the church. Many of them are from Kyee-bin-kan village which is one of the targeted mission fields of the diocese.

Here are the testimonies from those who came to accept Jesus Christ.

U Hpo Chein – Age 58 (male): I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior after hearing about him from the evangelist in my village and received my healing through the prayers in His name. I have suffered from a stroke and have not been able to speak well. I also have a heart condition that kept me in a bad shape. After hearing the evangelist talked about Jesus Christ who heals all diseases, I surrendered myself to Him and accepted the healing prayer in His name. I am now doing a lot better. As my faith in Him grows, I continue to pray and trust that He will restore my health completely.

Ma Khine Sa-bai – Age 16 (girl): I accepted Jesus Christ in my life after hearing the evangelist sharing of the good news about Jesus and what He has done for me.

Ma Wine Suu – Age 13 (girl): I heard about Jesus Christ from my friends and wanted to know more about Him. So, I went and listened to the teaching of the evangelist about the good news of Jesus Christ. Those teachings have strengthened my faith as Iaccepted Jesus Christ in my life.

Moe Htet Htet Win – Age 16 (girl): I heard about Jesus Christ from my cousins who are Christians. They brought me to the evangelist in our village to listen to the teaching about the good news of Jesus Christ. I have come to accept Jesus in my life after listening to the evangelist as I continue to trust in Jesus.

Prayer Requests

• Funding to send evangelists to the villages targeted for mission and evangelism

• To raise up more evangelists

• To complete building the churches in three villages

• To purchase a plot of land for the diocesan office and a vehicle for the diocese

Note:

The cost to live in a village is about $50 per month. HTE has sent annual support for (3) evangelists in 2020 and for (5) evangelists in 2021. We also sent support to help build a church – St. Philip’s – in Kyee-bin-kan village and to help buy a plot of land in one of the mission fields in 2020. Support can be donated through HTE under Mission and Outreach (Myanmar).
